Jay-Z Will Not Replace Mathew Knowles as Beyonce's Manager

Knowles denies rumors that he will no longer manage Beyonce's career.

Jay-Z may be Beyoncé's husband, but the hip-hop heavyweight will not be managing the pop star anytime soon. According to a statement posted by the singer's management website, Music World Entertainment, Beyoncé's father, Mathew Knowles is not being replaced by Jay-Z or anyone else as her manager.

"Contrary to false rumors online, Beyoncé and her manager Mathew Knowles unequivocally have had and continue to have a close personal and business relationship. Mathew Knowles is the sole and exclusive manager of Beyoncé," the statement reads.

Mathew Knowles has always played an important part in his daughter's career, dating all the way back to her days in Destiny's Child. When the group split in 2005, Mathew continued managing Beyoncé as well as Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. But Rowland and Williams recently parted ways with Knowles and his Music World Entertainment team. Earlier this year, he also denied claims that the trio were in talks to reunite Destiny's Child.

In addition to refuting the online rumors, the management company confirmed that the singer is working on upcoming music projects. "Furthermore, Beyoncé is readying the release of her new, highly anticipated DVD and has started the recording process for her new album," the statement concluded.

One producer that the singer may be reuniting with for her next record is Ne-Yo. The pair previously worked together on her hit single "Irreplaceable" back in 2006. Just last week, the soon-to-be father tweeted, "Mornin' NY!!! Studio with Mary J Blige last night, Beyonce tonight. I LOVE MY JOB!!! Shout out Jerry Wonder!!"

How do you think Mathew Knowles does at managing Beyoncé? Share your thoughts below.

POLL: What Do You Think About the New Michael Jackson Song?

POLL: What Do You Think About the New Michael Jackson Song?

There's a new Michael Jackson track making its rounds on the Internet, but some members of the late legend's family are convinced it's not actually him.

The song "Breaking News" (available for fans to listen to on MichaelJackson.com) features multiple vocal tracks, one of which record label Sony assures is actually Jackson.

In a statement, Sony said they have, "complete confidence in the results of our extensive research, as well as the accounts of those who were in the studio with Michael, that the vocals on the new album are his own."

In fact, USA Today reports that Epic records (a label under Sony) claims that "Breaking News" was originally recorded in 2007 in New Jersey and "was just recently completed with the cooperation of Jackson's estate."

But, Sony and Epic's word isn't enough for some of Jackson's family. His sister LaToya Jackson told TMZ.com she heard the nearly four-and-a-half minute song and thought, "That doesn't sound like him."

Michael's nephews, Taryll and TJ Jackson (the sons of Tito Jackson), also spoke out against the tune. "I will not support 'Breaking News' and a few others (off the album) because it simply is not him," Taryll twittered. "I KNOW my Uncle's voice and something's seriously wrong when you have immediate FAMILY saying it's not him. Sounding like Michael Jackson and BEING Michael Jackson are two different things."

TJ also took to his Twitter to dispute the track. "There's many MJ vocal impersonators," he wrote. "Some better than others. But there is only ONE Michael Jackson. Deceptively merging shady vocals with MJ samples (from prior MJ records) will never fool me. Why they would ignore the obvious, look the other way and rush a suspicious track that was NEVER on my Uncle's radar is beyond me. I'm disgusted, disappointed and saddened."

The controversial new song will appear on the upcoming album called, fittingly, Michael, which is slated for release on Dec. 14.

Take our poll and let us know: What do you think about the new Michael Jackson song?

Conan O'Brien Back on TBS

Conan O'Brien Back on TBS

"Welcome to my second annual first show," said Conan O'Brien, kicking off his monologue in the premiere of his new talk show, Conan (TBS, weeknights at 11 p.m. ET) on Monday night.

If any fans worried that the show would be different on TBS, those concerns were quickly put to rest. O'Brien's signature quirky humor was on display from the opening sequence, spoofing the events of the last year. (Lost his NBC job. Took funny-sad jobs to get by. Contemplated suicide. And finally, took Larry King's suggestion to try a show on basic cable.) What came next was an hour of self-deprecating jokes about both himself and his new network.

"People asked me why I named the show Conan," he cracked. "I did it so I would be harder to replace." And later: "I'm really glad to be on cable," he said. "I have dreamed of being a talk show host on basic cable ever since I was 46." Naturally, there was the obligatory stab at TBS's modest stature: "We are already number one in TBS' key demo -- people who cannot afford HBO."

Aside from a new set with an ocean view and a remote-controlled moon, the show was very much what you expect from O'Brien. He had plenty of goofy stunts, like when he announced the winner of "our rigged first guest contest," an elderly woman who's the curator of the Nutcracker museum. Then he and sidekick Andy Richter modeled some hideous Halloween masks of Conan's face. "For legal reasons they couldn't call it a Conan O'Brien mask," he explained. Viewers then got a close-up of the mask's label, which read "Ex-Talk Show Host."

The rest of the show was typical, self-effacing Conan fare. There was a pre-taped bit from Ricky Gervais, who wished his friend well but expected that he'd be downgraded to a radio show within seven months. When guest Seth Rogan used the "s" word, Conan blanched and said, "Thank god we're on TBS." And when a knocking noise interrupted Glee's Lea Michele mid-sentence, he quipped, "Basic cable. Someone rented out a space right there. There's a Meineke muffler shop."

O'Brien joined rocker Jack White during his musical performance, and then, almost as soon as it started, his premiere was over. "That went fast," he said. But with a little luck, the show itself will have a good, long run. Longer than the last one, anyway.

Justin Bieber's My Worlds Acoustic Album Drops On Black Friday

Album, featuring a new track called 'Pray,' will be released on November 26, the biggest shopping day of the year.

November 26 certainly won't be a Black Friday for Justin Bieber fans. His acoustic album, My Worlds Acoustic, drops that day, which also happens to be the biggest shopping day of the year. The album will be sold exclusively through Walmart.

A press release for the album notes that in addition to acoustic versions of Bieber's hits, there's a new song on the album called "Pray." It's being described as an "optimistic, uplifting song, and represents the spirit behind My Worlds Acoustic." The press release also says that "Justin intends the album as a gift to his fans; the arrangements reflect Justin's early days with merely an acoustic guitar or a lone piano.

"The album adds additional acoustic instrumentation such as a string quartet, congas, and a cajon drum," the press release continues. "The percussion represents inspiration from Justin's worldly travels, most recently to Africa. Justin plays guitar on the album alongside his musical director and fellow guitarist Dan Kanter."

When MTV News spoke to Bieber about the album earlier this month, he explained why he wanted to release an acoustic album. "I really think that I did an acoustic album because there's a lot of haters out there that say, 'Justin Bieber can't sing. His voice is all Auto-Tuned,' " he said. "And there's a lot with production, it kind of drowns out your voice, and it takes away from the singer, over the synths and everything."

My Worlds Acoustic will allow Bieber's true talent to shine through. "I think kind of stripping it down and having it kind of really mellow and being able to hear my voice is why I wanted to do it."

Are you excited for Justin Bieber's acoustic album? Let us know in the comments!

Dark and Stormie: Teen Mom Family Feud Continues For Farrah Abraham

The family feud rages on between Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham and the family of her deceased boyfriend over visitation of Farrah's daughter Sophia.

"I'm not giving up," Stormie Clark, the mother of Derek Underwood, told Radar Online exclusively after a judge recently denied her visitation rights.

Clark's son tragically died in a car crash in 2008 just two months before his on-again, off-again girlfriend, Farrah Abraham, gave birth to Sophia.

Farrah A.

For Farrah Abraham, the battle for Sophia continues.

"In the state of Iowa in order to get grandparents rights your child has to be deceased and my son passed away," Stormie Clark explained.

"Then you have to have had a substantial relationship with the child. This is not fair because I'm not able to do that because of Farrah."

"The easiest thing to do would be talk to Farrah and work this out. I am 110 percent willing to do that, but that's not the case for her. Prior to trying to get visitation I've tried to reach out to Farrah while she was pregnant and she ignored me."

During season 2 of the hit MTV reality show, Clark's daughter Kassy appeared alongside Farrah, who learned the results of the paternity test.

"My daughter is not on the show anymore because Farrah only wanted her on the show for ratings and now wants nothing to do with her," Clark said. "I think Farrah has changed her phone number so none of us can call her."

Clark said she wouldn't visit uninvited, and couldn't anyway: "I don't know where she lives," and fears Farrah would "probably call the cops," she said.

Her only explanation for the familial distance is "she's spiteful."

"She's said on the show that we never supported the relationship [between her and my son], but her family didn't support the relationship either."

"It was just because they fought all the time. And I understand teenagers will do that. They were on-again, off-again, and Derek [my son] would always be upset. I just wanted them to move on because they never got along."

Alicia Keys has proven to be as selfless in real life as she is in song.

The singer held her 8th annual Keep a Child Alive Black Ball event in New York on Thursday night. The fundraiser brought out Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Usher, Jay Sean, Janelle Monae, Jennifer Hudson, Whitney Houston and more.

Jay-Z and Keys' husband, Swizz Beatz, performed "On to the Next One," and Jay later performed "Empire State of Mind." Monae also hit the stage, as did Keys and Sade, who performed a duet, "Love Is Stronger Than Pride."

"It's my heart and soul," Keys told MTV News about the organization she co-founded. "Since the beginning, we've been very driven to do incredible work. I'm proud to show what four to five women who are very dedicated can do."

The organization benefits children and families who have been affected by AIDS but can't afford to purchase medicine; the event reportedly helped raise $2.4 million.

This year, Keep a Child Alive introduced the "Buy Life" T-shirt. The shirt features a large barcode on the garment; donors can buy the shirt and scan the code with their smart phones to make a donation to the charity. Every time the code is scanned by a phone, a donation goes through. Ryan Seacrest, Kim Kardashian and Katie Holmes are among the celebrity spokespeople appearing in ads for the shirt.

"It's like a dream to me to be among these people singing and performing, and opening people's eyes to what Keep a Child Alive can do," Keys said.

Britney Spears Remains Under Conservatorship

Conservatorship has been in place since February 2008.
By Jocelyn Vena

On Thursday (September 30), Britney Spears met with a judge in Los Angeles to discuss the current status of her conservatorship, which she has been under since February 2008.

TMZ reports that Judge Reva Goetz had requested a meeting with the pop star after the judge had discussed ending the conservatorship with Spears' lawyers at the last few status meetings.

Spears' father, Jamie Spears, was also present in the judge's chambers during the progress meeting. He left the courtroom minutes after Britney, who wore a black dress and black ankle boots.

It was decided that Spears would remain under her conservatorship, according to TMZ. The judge took the stand to announce: "At this time, all orders will remain in full force and effect." The decision came after she met with Spears and her father individually. The judge did give the OK to approve "investment strategies" for Britney's trust; a petition had been filed regarding that matter.

While there seems to be no change in Spears' personal life, she has certainly been a force to be reckoned with since she released her 2008 album Circus. She's managed to once again top the charts, mount a successful tour and even try her hand at acting. This week alone she brought some star power to "Glee," which tackled her hit-filled catalog, including "Me Against the Music."

Much has been rumored about what Spears is working on as far as a follow-up to Circus. After it was reported that Spears might release new music sometime this year, her manager, Adam Leber, was quick to clear the air.

"No new music news right now....Wish people wouldn't mislead you guys with BS info," he wrote on Twitter in August. "Not cool! PS- The guys that ARE working on Brit's next album ARE NOT talking about it..."

New Led Zeppelin On The Way? Jason Bonham Hints At 'Jam' Sessions With Jimmy Page -- But Not Robert Plant

Drummer admits he doesn't know what will come of 'new material.'
By Chris Harris

Jason Bonham
Photo: Larry Marano/ Getty Images

On Friday morning, mere hours before he was due to take the stage with classic rockers Foreigner at Detroit's GM Renaissance Center, drummer Jason Bonham — the son of late Led Zeppelin kitman John Bonham — told Jim Johnson and Lynne Woodison of local rock station 94.7 WCSX that he'd be an ex-member of Foreigner as of September 1. But that's not the only thing he said.

Much to the delight of Led Zeppelin fans everywhere, Bonham revealed that he's been meeting up with Led Zep guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones in recent months and that they've been "trying to do some new material and writing."

It was the first time since Led Zeppelin announced they would re-form for a single performance (which happened late last year at London's O2 Arena, in honor of the late Ahmet Ertegün, who signed the band to Atlantic Records in 1969) that anyone connected to the band has confirmed publicly that new music could be on the horizon for the iconic rockers. While the bandmembers have stopped short of definitively ruling out such a reunion, singer Robert Plant insisted in the wake of last year's show that he intended to focus on promoting and touring behind his critically lauded album with bluegrass artist Alison Krauss, Raising Sand.

Not that Bonham knows what — if anything — will happen with the new material he's been working on with Page (who collaborated with pop singer Leona Lewis on an uneven version of Zep's "Whole Lotta Love" at the Olympic closing ceremonies in Beijing on Sunday night) and Jones. He said he just shows up and takes his seat behind the kit.

"I've been over [to England] a couple of times," Bonham said. "I've been working with Jimmy and John Paul and trying to do ... some new material and some writing. I don't know what it will be, but it will be something. At the moment, all I know is I have the great pleasure to go and jam with the two guys and start work on some material. When I get there, I never ask any questions. If I get a phone call to go and play, I enjoy every moment of it. Whatever it ends up as, to ever get a chance to jam with two people like that, it is a phenomenal thing for me. It's my life. It's what I've dreamed about doing."

He said it's still too early to tell what will become of these "jam" sessions, but admitted that the "possibility of doing something is in the cards. I really felt it was in the cards from the moment we walked offstage at the O2." Bonham also explained that, before there could be a Led Zep LP, "lots of politics [would need to] get ironed out," but added that recording with Zep is "something I've always wanted to do."

Bonham noticeably didn't mention frontman Plant's name during the discussion. A spokesperson for Page's management had no comment on the matter, and a spokesperson for Jones' management could not be reached by press time.

Brad Pitt's 'Megamind' Character No 'Cardboard Hero,' Director Says

Pitt 'loved' voicing animated Metro Man, Tom McGrath tells MTV News, as executive producer Ben Stiller jokes they wanted to give A-lister 'a break.'
By Sarah Flanigan, with reporting by Kara Warner

"Megamind," DreamWorks' latest animated comedy, hits theaters on Friday, with a star-studded Hollywood cast that includes Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller and Brad Pitt. And while funnymen Ferrell and Stiller are no strangers to comedic work, A-list actor Pitt is a bit of a newbie to the genre.

The film tells the story of a super-villain named Megamind, voiced by Ferrell, who has repeatedly attempted — and failed — to conquer Metro City. Instead, the town's studly hero Metro Man (Pitt) has managed to defeat him every time.

Although Pitt has played a multifaceted range of characters onscreen, until the role of Metro Man came along, he had yet to add an animated hero to his résumé. When MTV News caught up with "Megamind" director Tom McGrath and executive producer Stiller, the two men explained what made the part appealing to Pitt.

"He loved the idea. He loved the character and playing that kind of character that has a couple levels to him," McGrath said. "You know, he's not just the cardboard hero, he's got another layer to him — not to give anything away — and he's funny."

Pitt's reputation as one of the most attractive men in the movie business certainly was not a consideration when the decision was made to cast him in the animated flick. Stiller said he thought he would actually be doing Pitt a favor by offering him this kind of role.

"We wanted to give him a break. We felt like he could use a boost right now in his career," Stiller joked. "We figured things aren't really popping with the on-camera work, maybe the voice thing will get him something. So I'm hoping he'll owe us for this one."

What do you think of Brad Pitt flexing his comedic chops in an animated flick? Tell us in the comments!

Check out everything we've got on "Megamind."

Stone Temple Pilots Reunited In Hopes Of Opening For Led Zeppelin, Bassist Says

'If time allows, there will definitely be new music,' Robert DeLeo adds of STP's future.
By Chris Harris

There are a number of reasons why Stone Temple Pilots decided to reunite after nearly five years apart — some are obvious, and others, not so much.

Of course, the financial windfall of reviving the grunge stalwarts for an extensive U.S. tour was too good to pass up, and bassist Robert DeLeo readily admits as much. And then there are the fans, the ones who had been with STP since the very beginning as well as those who discovered the band only after it first split back in 2003 and who, woefully, have yet to catch the Pilots live.

On a more personal level, though, Stone Temple Pilots' resurrection was purely selfish, and very much an anticipatory (not to mention optimistic) move on the band's part: If, after the months and months of rumors and denials, there ever is a full-on Led Zeppelin reunion tour, STP wanted to be ready to offer their services as an opening act.

"Believe me, that was one of the reasons," laughed DeLeo. "We thought, 'We should get together now, in case Zeppelin does tour.' I'm serious, man. That would be one hell of a bill: STP and Led Zeppelin. I mean, we could play a doghouse, out in the middle of the ocean, and if I got to play with Zeppelin, that would be a highlight of my life."

Yes, DeLeo — and the rest of the band — had several reservations about raising STP from the dead — a feat DeLeo jokingly referred to as "Mission Impossible." For the band's members, the idea of regrouping was terrifying at first, but with time, the boys settled their differences and tried to think positive.

"For me, it was about putting down some of the things that I was used to getting bitten by," explained the bassist — who, with guitar-playing brother Dean DeLeo, has been collaborating with Peter Frampton on material for his next LP. "After you get bitten, it's hard to go back. I wanted to go into this with an open frame of mind and a positive attitude and just have fun with it. We should have fun with it, which God knows we didn't always have with our career when we were younger. If that's all I can say, and that's what I can get out of this reunion, great.

"I think I speak for all of us when I say there's a lot of unfinished business that we didn't get around to the first go," he continued. "Enough time has gone by, and it feels really good to be back. I don't really want to put too much thought into how it feels — I'm just kind of going with it and keeping a good positive attitude about it. I just needed to get over the things that we all needed to get over, and that's been working so far. If everyone shows up and does this thing, I think it's going to be really amazing."

DeLeo claims that during recent rehearsals, STP were "sounding as good as ever," and he credits sobriety as part of the reason the band's in tip-top shape.

"My brother's going on four years of sobriety," he said. "We have a lot more clarity in the band now, and I think with clarity comes appreciation. I saw that the other night, when we played [a secret gig in Los Angeles]. I saw it in my eyes, and in the eyes of the rest of the band. There's a lot more rock in this band now."

As for an STP record, DeLeo is not 100 percent sure that's going to happen. The goal for STP over the next few weeks, he said, is to reacquaint themselves with their songbook and prepare for their return to the road. Once the band is back in that mindset, the bassist said new STP material is very possible.

"I've always got stuff written, and there's always a long list of songs that are always there — it's a matter of timing," DeLeo said. "If time allows, there will definitely be new music. I think it would be silly not to release new music. I'd like to believe we still have a writing relationship, but the first step is getting reacquainted with what we know."

While STP were on hiatus, frontman Scott Weiland teamed up with Velvet Revolver, and the DeLeo brothers joined forces with Filter's Richard Patrick for Army of Anyone — who are now on hiatus after releasing a poorly received self-titled LP. Does DeLeo foresee an AOA reunion somewhere down the line?

"You never know," he said. "It's just like STP — I didn't know if I was going to return. Whether we get back together and do anything, I think we made a great record, bottom line. That's all that matters to me. If we make another one, I want to make sure it's great, and that applies to STP and anything I do. But I was pretty heartbroken over [the feeble response to AOA's album]."

Lady Gaga Immortalized With Multiple Madame Tussauds Statues

Eight wax figures, each wearing a unique Gaga fashion, will appear in museums December 9.

Lady Gaga might be keeping a low profile as she preps the release of her forthcoming album, but next month, the pop star will be hitting the stage — in the form of wax, that is. On Thursday (November 4), it was announced that Madame Tussauds is set to unveil a series of distinctly styled Gaga wax figures in eight of its worldwide museum locations on December 9.

To ensure spot-on looks, the creators of the Gaga wax figures have been working with the pop star's favorite fashion designers. Madame Tussauds had a variety of options when choosing the eight distinct outfits for figures of the ever-evolving fashion icon, which will be launched in London, Amsterdam, Berlin, New York, Hollywood, Las Vegas, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

According to a press release, all eight of the wax figures are being created by a team in West London. As with all of the museum's additions, the singer's figures were sculpted with clay before being molded in wax. Once formed, a team of expert artists and stylists remade the singer's signature looks. After four months of work, each wax replica is estimated to cost more than $300,000, resulting in a grand total of $2.4 million for the entire Gaga set.

"As one of the biggest and most unique talents in the world, Lady Gaga is the perfect subject for the biggest figure launch in Madame Tussauds' history," the release says. "All of the styles being worked on are classic Gaga and we're sure her fans will be delighted with the unique looks when we unveil the figures next month."

The featured styles will be: Lady in Lace (The Brit Awards 2010), Telephone (Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, March 2010), Harlequin (Grand Intercontinental Hotel Seoul, South Korea), Kinky Boots (Hakkasan restaurant, London), Mini Mouse (BBC Radio 1 studios, London), Hair Hat (Consumer Electronics Show, Las Vegas), Wired "wing" dress with lightning "eye" (Wetten, dass..? gameshow, Germany) and Big Hair (Phoenix Hotel, Denmark).

Gaga's "little monsters" should be familiar with most of the styles, as they suggested the looks they'd like to see replicated.

Which Lady Gaga look do you want to see at Madame Tussauds? Share your thoughts below!

'Megamind' Opens With Huge Box-Office Sales

Animated flick made $12.5 million Friday.

The animated superhero comedy "Megamind" ruled the box office opening day. Boasting voice-over contributions from Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Jonah Hill and Brad Pitt, who was happy to lay off the makeup and wardrobe for his latest role, the movie opened in first place with $12.5 million.

"Megamind," a tale of a villain looking to flex his evil skills, barely inched ahead of "Due Date" for the #1 spot, with the Dreamworks offering fending off the Zach Galifianakis and Robert Downey Jr. comedy with just a $300,000 lead. The latest from "Hangover" director Todd Phillips raked in $12.2 million in Friday box-office sales.

Debuting in third place is the all-star drama "For Colored Girls." Tyler Perry's screen adaptation of the landmark 1975 Ntozake Shange stage production "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf" arrived in theaters with $7.4 million. Featuring a diverse ensemble, which includes Thandie Newton, Kimberly Elise, Phylicia Rashad, Anika Noni Rose, Kerry Washington, Loretta Devine, Janet Jackson, Tessa Thompson and Whoopi Goldberg, the film's stars say the movie is "a great statement on sisterhood and community."

The torture thriller "Saw 3D" continued to scare up ticket sales after its big Halloween-weekend debut. The latest installment in the horror franchise took the fourth-place slot at the Friday box office, picking up about $2.6 million. Friday's number tips the film's total haul to around $33 million.

The assassin, action flick "Red" kicked off the weekend in fifth place. Heavy on firepower and fiery performances from Hollywood veterans Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman and John Malkovich, the film scored $2.5 million. The Friday figure bumps the film's total tally to roughly $65 million.

Tina Fey Got 'Lightheaded' While Voicing 'Megamind' Character

'I would kind of hyperventilate,' she says of imagining falling off buildings and other action scenes.
By Kara Warner

Given all the high-profile names attached to animated films these days — particularly Dreamworks' upcoming "Megamind," featuring the vocal stylings of Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill and David Cross — it stands to reason that there is something highly appealing to the art of voice acting, aside from a great script and a paycheck, of course.

When MTV News caught up with two of the big names in question, Ferrell and Fey, we asked them to compare and contrast the arts of voice acting vs. regular acting.

"You can kind of look at it a lot of different ways," Ferrell said. "You are isolated [during the recording process], you're slightly on this island. But at the same time, you get this huge amount of creative freedom in terms of you can kind of go anywhere you want to. And that's the huge selling point of working on something like this."

Fey agreed, adding that she found certain action scenes in "Megamind" to be a lot more involved than she thought.

"Having to imagine that you're up on top of a building and falling off, and being caught and swept back up, and trying to imagine all that," she explained. "I can say that every time we had to do that stuff, I would kind of hyperventilate and get a little lightheaded."

"[You] almost pass out," Ferrell said.

Speaking of lightheadedness and playing supervillains, we had to ask Ferrell how a meeting between Megamind and "Zoolander" baddie Mugatu would pan out.

"Well, I think Megamind would kind of run circles around Mugatu," Ferrell said. "He's just evil in the fashion world, so he doesn't really have any powers."

"Mugatu would probably respect Megamind's look, though," Fey offered.

"Yeah, they probably would become great friends," Ferrell said.

Ke$ha's Cannibal Track List: No Drake, Plenty Of Dirty Puns

'Animal' remix and eight new songs feature production by Max Martin, Benny Blanco and Bangladesh.
By James Montgomery

On November 22, Ke$ha will return with Cannibal, the mini-LP/ maxi-EP "companion" piece to her platinum-plus debut disc, Animal.

Much like Lady Gaga's The Fame Monster, Cannibal will be sold both as a standalone album and as part of a deluxe reissue of Animal. According to a press release from Ke$ha's label, RCA, there are eight new songs on the album (including smash first single "We R Who We R") — produced by the likes of Max Martin, Benny Blanco and Bangladesh — and a new remix.

Earlier this week, a rumored track list for Cannibal began making the rounds, featuring songs like "Rumblin'," "Glitter and Glamour" and "Strong," a supposed team-up with Drake. It sounded rather promising, but, unfortunately, it was also untrue.

On Thursday (October 28), RCA sent MTV News the actual track listing for Cannibal, and while it doesn't feature any cameos by Drake (or anyone else), there is a song called — ahem — "C U Next Tuesday," which promises to be a rather interesting listen.

Other tracks include "Sleazy," "Blow," "The Harold Song" (perhaps a spiritual sequel of sorts to the Animal track "Stephen"?) and the pun-a-riffic "Grow a Pear."

In an interview earlier this month with Entertainment Weekly, Ke$ha said she aimed to create "[a] youthful and irreverent movement of the kids" with Cannibal, and describes the music on the disc as good, positive and "fun as sh--." And judging by the song titles alone, we're inclined to believe her.

The track list for Ke$ha's Cannibal, according to RCA Records:
» 1. "Cannibal"
» 2. "We R Who We R"
» 3. "Sleazy"
» 4. "Blow"
» 5. "The Harold Song"
» 6. "Crazy Beautiful Life"
» 7. "Grow a Pear"
» 8. "C U Next Tuesday"
» 9. "Animal (Billboard remix)"

Will you be picking up Cannibal? Tell us in the comments!

Liberals and Conservatives Unite Around Keith Olbermann, Ask MSNBC: Seriously?!?

Who would have ever thought that Keith Olbermann would be the man to bring liberals and conservatives together?!?

But in the hours following MSNBC President Phil Griffin's bizarre decision to suspend Olbermann for donating money to democratic candidates, anchors and pundits from across the political spectrum have expressed outrage over the action.

Angry Olbermann

Take it away, William Kristol, editor of The Weekly Standard one of the most conservative commentators on the planet:

"[It's] ludicrous. First, he donated money to candidates he liked. He didn’t take money, or favors, in a way that influenced his reporting. Second, he’s not a reporter. It’s an opinion show. If Olbermann wants to put his money where his mouth is, more power to him."

It's worth noting that the policy at MSNBC does not ban employees from making donations. It only requires they ask permission first, which Olbermann failed to do.

Rachel Maddow acknowledges that distinction, along with her colleague's mistake in ignoring it, but urged her network to re-install Olbermann as the host of Countdown last night. She also used the incident to illustrate a major difference between MSNBC and Fox News:

The former suspended its most well-known personality for contributing to a campaign; the latter uses its programs to openly raise money for Republicans, while its hosts have all given money across the board to conservative candidates. The former is an admittedly biased news service; the latter is a political operation.

It's a great, scathing segment, based entirely on facts and clips. Watch now:

Are LeAnn Rimes & Eddie Cibrian Engaged for Real?

Are LeAnn Rimes & Eddie Cibrian Engaged for Real?

No more tricks? It seems Eddie Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes really are planning to tie the knot! A source close to the couple tells E! News that the couple, who staged a fake proposal on Halloween, have gotten engaged for real.

The news of the engagement came on the same day that Cibrian's ex, Brandi Glanville, told the women of The Talk that she planned to "sit down and talk" with the country star, who had an affair with Cibrian while the two were filming a TV movie. Glanville, who was arrested for a DUI last week, admitted that she's been drinking a bit more since her divorce. "I don't think I have a drinking problem," she said. "I think I had a problem the other night when I made a bad choice to drive."

Despite the controversy surrounding their affair, Rimes and Cibrian have been pretty open about their relationship -- and Cibrian even packed up his kids and moved into Rimes' home once they were both divorced.

But though the two seem like a normal, happy couple, controvery continues to follow them. The singer posed for the October issue of Shape, but tension brewed when the magazine's editor sent out an email to readers apologizing for choosing Rimes as their cover girl. The editor later released another statement insisting she was proud of the story and that her comments had been taken out of context. To drive home the point, the magazine threw a party in celebration of Rimes' cover. However, the guest of honor was a no-show at Thursday's soiree -- though her rep insists her absence had nothing to do with any hard feelings.

"Unfortunately (Rimes) caught the flu and under doctor's orders was advised not to travel or go out," her rep tells the New York Post.

In an interview with ABC's Robin Roberts, Rimes said that she's not sorry about falling for Cibrian while married to Dean Sheremet.

"You had two couples whose marriages didn't work who really stumbled upon each other and fell in love," Rimes said. "Nothing I'm going to say is going to change it," she says. "I do know that, and I have accepted that…but I do know how much I love him. So I've always said I don't live my life with regret. I can't."

A rep for the couple had no comment on the engagement news.

Brad Pitt's 'Megamind' Character No 'Cardboard Hero,' Director Says

Pitt 'loved' voicing animated Metro Man, Tom McGrath tells MTV News, as executive producer Ben Stiller jokes they wanted to give A-lister 'a break.'

Lil Wayne "Free at Last" from Jail

Lil Wayne "Free at Last" from Jail

Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. -- or as he's known to fans, Lil Wayne -- is a free man. The 28-year-old rapper was released from Rikers Island in New York City on Thursday morning after serving eight months of a 1-year sentence on a weapons conviction.

The man behind the chart-topping album I Am Not Human was released early on good behavior, despite the fact that he spent the end of his sentence in solitary for "sneaking headphones and a charger for an MP3 player into his cell earlier this year."

A department rep confirmed his release to E! Online: "He left according to standard procedures in correction vehicle, but not with others. It's unusual in the sense that if you have a high profile inmate you have to transport him individually. It's a modification of our standard procedure. In this case different arrangements were made because of his extraordinarily high profile. He was dropped at an undisclosed location and met by his associates."

So now that Weezy is out of jail, what's his first order of business? Mack Maine, the president of Lil Wayne's record label, told MTV.com that his friends and music family will join him for a party at a Miami strip club. "(We plan) to just treat him like a king, like the royalty that he is and make him feel like we really missed him and welcome him back to the family, basically," he said.

Maine wasn't the only one excited about Lil' Wayne's release, as the star's manager Cortez Bryant tweeted, "FREE AT LAST!!!!!!!" Even former President Bill Clinton (yes, you read that right!) gave his opinion on Weezy during an interview with 96.1 Kiss FM's Morning Freak Show. "This guy's smart," he said. "And he's got abilities. And he's got a new chance now. And what I hope is that this is not just something to brand him as a cool guy, but that it'll never happen again to him."

On Tuesday Lil Wayne himself, who kept in touch with fans via his website Weezythanxyou.com during his time behind bars, insisted he didn't let his jail time get him down. "I was never scared, worried nor bothered by the situation," he said.

Do you think Lil Wayne deserves a second chance? Chime in below!

James Franco Says '127 Hours' Is A Blend Of 'Acting' And 'Experience'

'Parts of the way we approached this performance are authentic on a real level,' Franco explained about director Danny Boyle's latest film.
By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

James Franco and Danny Boyle

Being an actor isn't always easy — just ask "127 Hours" star James Franco. Sure, there are paparazzi and the pitfalls of celebrity to deal with, but sometimes you're posed with other challenges — for example, you might have to operate climbing gear entirely with your left hand while being trapped inside of a claustrophobic canyon.

That's exactly what Franco was forced to overcome while shooting "127 Hours," the latest feature film from "Slumdog Millionaire" director Danny Boyle. Based on the true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston, who got pinned beneath a boulder in Utah and had free himself by amputating his own arm, "127 Hours" put Franco into some truly compromising situations. The end result, according to the actor, was a performance that occasionally crossed the border between acting and real-life experience.

"You could write [in a screenplay] that he tries to tie the pulley and then he gets frustrated, you can do that moment, but actually trying to do [that while] being trapped, and doing it with my left hand, and doing that for like 15 minutes, I remember yelling out [the F-word] a couple of times," Franco told MTV News of his experience. "That was like the character and me blurring at that moment."

As Boyle explained, Franco was largely left to his own devices during the shooting, not only for creative reasons, but also because of physical restrictions. "In the canyon [where we were filming], you couldn't really fit anybody in there [aside from Franco and two cameramen]," said the director. "I wasn't in there. I was outside. I had a video link and a microphone so I could talk to them if I needed to and I could hear them, obviously, because I was linked to James' mic. But there was only room for a cameraman in there."

As if his virtual solitude wasn't difficult enough, Boyle left Franco to film his own performance for long stretches of time, although only a portion of these takes made it into the movie's final cut. "We ended up doing these really long takes, and then we'd use little snatches of them in the film, which makes it feel really vibrant," said the director. "You only get bits of it, but [Franco] would have to go through the whole process of trying to rig that. To rig a pulley one-handed is really tough, and it wasn't like we could stop and say, 'OK, props, could you come and rig the pulley for James here while [he] relaxes?' He had to rig the pulley. There were a couple of times where it was really tough to do one-handed."

"For me, that really showed how parts of the way we approached this performance are authentic on a real level," Franco said in summarizing the experience. "[We're] blurring the line between acting and experiencing, giving yourself physical tasks and trying to really complete them in a way."

Check out everything we've got on "127 Hours."

'Today' Show Hosts Dress As Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber For Halloween

Segment also featured cameos from Will Ferrell and Tina Fey as their 'Megamind' characters.
By Jocelyn Vena

Meredith Vieira as Lady Gaga on the "Today" show

This year's "Today" show Halloween segment may have been short on Matt Lauer, but the show made up for it thanks to cameos from Will Ferrell and Tina Fey as their "Megamind" characters. But even those superstars were upstaged by some crafty costumes worn by the "Today" show hosts Friday morning (October 29).

In what turned out to be one complex segment, the Halloween fun started with Lauer and Roker looking at "Megamind" footage in a pretaped segment. Then the story went a bit zany. As Roker escorted a Clark Kent-looking Lauer out of the building, Lauer used his highly sensitive hearing to sense that Fey was in trouble.

In order to become Superman, he entered a phone booth to call Ferrell's Megamind to meet up with him, and out came Roker, in Lauer's place, as Superman. Ferrell and Roker then rushed to the side of Fey (dressed as "Megamind" reporter Roxanne Ritchi) to save her and toss to an old-timey newsreel, in which Ann Curry made her entrance as Amelia Earhart, who apparently had been hiding out in 30 Rock for the better part of a century.

Once she reemerged in the modern world, Earhart said she'd noticed that a lot has changed. Like what? Well, music. With that, Natalie Morales came out playing a convincing Justin Bieber, all the way down to the dance moves during "Baby."

But it was Meredith Vieira as the "monster of all monsters," Lady Gaga, dressed in the Armani orbit gown the singer wore to the Grammy Awards earlier this year, that really upped the production value. She sang the pop star's hit "Bad Romance," complete with backup dancers.
